Football

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net using any part of the body except the arms and hands, with the exception of the goalkeeper, who can use their hands within a designated area. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end.

Football is governed internationally by the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), which organizes various competitions, including the FIFA World Cup. The sport is played at both amateur and professional levels, and it is renowned for its passionate fanbase and cultural significance worldwide. Football is characterized by its simplicity and accessibility, making it one of the most popular sports globally. It emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, with matches typically consisting of two halves of 45 minutes each, separated by a halftime break. The team with the most goals at the end of the match wins; if the score is tied, the match may end in a draw or go to extra time, depending on the competition rules.
